"Jim, Go Feed the Horses" - 25th Jubilee Mass
Dear Preachers and Other Friends of the Gospel,
This past Sunday my parish and I celebrated the 25th Anniversay of my ordination. It was a great time! The reception following the Mass featured live music and square dancing thanks to my family (a nephew-in-law is an excellent caller who c=kept the whole crowd involved...laughing).
In the farm country that I hail from, square dancing is part of everyone's life (weddings, proms, parish dances, etc. always include square dancing). So, we thought it appropriate to provide the St. Al's folks with some honest-to-goodness cultural diversityi. So we taught the suburbanites some of the steps and they proved willing and, well, it was A LOT OF FUN (it's been three days since th party and I'm still draggin' butt).
A copy of the homily along with an audio version can be found on the St. Al's link. Go to "Parish" then "Homilies" then, if you want to listen to the delivery, press "Play."
The focus of the homily is the grace that comes via Sundays, holidays, anniversaries, etc.
Hope you enjoy it.
Fr. Jim
